What
time are the crops held and how much are they?
A day crop runs from 10 AM to 10 PM. We open the doors 5-10
minutes early to let you in to set up. (Sorry…no earlier!)
A day crop costs $35.
The times and cost on an event crop varies and will be posted
when it is announced.
What does the cost include?
Hilltop crops include unlimited cropping time, an exclusive
HM page kit/goody bag, games and door prizes, breakfast, lunch,
dinner, drinks and snacks! Sometimes our crops also include
product demonstrations or a goofy "floor show"!
How do I know where the crop is?
There are two ways to find out about our crops.
One is to check our website often. We update our site when
we have our next crops booked.
The second way to become a member of our Yahoo chat group.
This is a great way to keep current on the crops as well as
your cropping friends. There is lots of fun chatter happening
there all the time! To join, go to www.yahoogroups.com and
search for Hilltop Memories. Yahoo will promt you on how to
join our group.
What kind of food will be served at a HM
crop?
Good, old-fashioned, stick-to-your-ribs food cooked by two
Southern "lunch ladies"! We post the menus on our
webiste at least one week prior to the crop date. We always
have a vegetarian version of every meal, but if you have any
other dietary restriction, you may need to bring something
of your own if our menu doesn’t meet your requirements.
There are usually fast food places near where we crop.
The only food complaint we hear is that there is TOO MUCH!!
What do I do if I need some supplies?
Hilltop Memories stocks a wide variety of supplies from the
basic like cardstock and adhesives to what is the most current
and hottest in scrapbooking trends. We start a tab for you
at the beginning of each crop and you can shop all day and
night and just settle your tab at the end of the crop.
We also have direct-sales vendors on site to have mini demos
and sell/promote their products. You will regularly see vendors
from Mary Kay, TLC, CMTH, Pampered Chef and many others.
Do you have a frequent buyer program
like at my LSS?
Yes we do! We track your purchases and when you spend $200
in merchandise you get a FREE day crop!
We also usually have a clearance area, offer gift certificates
and run promotions also just like your LSS!
How do I become a direct-sales vendor
at a crop?
All you have to do is ask in advance if there are openings
for you/your company. We’ll discuss arrangements, like
tables needed, demo times, etc. You will also have to provide
HM with a door prize worth $25 regular retail to be given
to a cropper at that crop.
If you are an approved vendor we will let you into the crop
a half hour early to set up your merchandise display.
What do
I need to bring to the crop?
You need to bring whatever supplies you think you will need
to work with. It is very easy to over pack, so keep in mind
how fast you work and how much you can accomplish in 12 hours
(remember we feed you often!). Page kits are great to bring
to work on.
Hilltop does have a few supplies on hand like alphabet punches,
ink pads, rubber stamps, die alphabets and shapes, idea books,
etc. that we have to lend out.
We also have a big, traveling store! Linda loves to hear the
register go ‘ca-ching’!
We have a list of suggested items to bring besides your cropping
gear: chair cushion, lightweight sweater or long sleeve shirt,
personal trash container, insulated drink container with lid
(we provide cups, but they drip!), a small foot stool to help
with lower back strain, a personal light source if you need
extra light (and extension cord) and any food you need to
meet a special dietary need/restriction or craving.
What if I cannot get a baby sitter?
As much as we love children, toddlers and babies they are
not allowed. The time you spend cropping and/or shopping at
a Hilltop Crop is pure “me time” (not only for
you, but for the rest of the croppers!) so children need to
stay at home. If for some reason you cannot attend the crop,
you can reschedule for another date as long as you give us
at least 24 hours notice.
Is there anything else I should know?
Normally at our day crops we have a local massuse come to
the crop with a portable table and they offer massages for
$1 a minute. Molly, from Slainte
in Temple Terrace, is our local physical therapist that comes
in and works miracles!
